hi guys i was wondering if it is possible to remove the baffles from my standard 3tj1 end can and if so how would it effect the running of the bike afterwards, i.e.. would it need re-jetting?

i also have another question, is the 3tj1 restricted to 45bhp or is it 60bhp as i have read on various motorcycle spec websites.

any help would be very appreciated.

Gray

The older FZR EXUP models have lower BHP than its non EXUP counterparts.
With regards to the baffle, i think running a race can without a baffle leans it up slighty??? so you might need jetting, although you could just buy a different end can.

I really doubt you'll notice much of a difference, i had cans on mine (3 actually) and all it did was make me balance the carbs 3 times.
Mine was an exup with the exup valve removed, the exup is a noise emissions thing, thats all.
