Is there any way of getting a replacement V5 without spending £25 on getting the DVLA to print another off? (I've lost mine, and want to replace my cracked number plate - but resent the £25 charge for something that is bound to turn up days later)

They don't charge if you send them the green slip from the document, but by the sounds of it you won't have.

There aren't any other exemptions I'm aware of, sadly.

What you talking about - it clearly says number plate now Wink

Sounds like there's no way around this little earner the DVLA have set up for themselves (i assume a replacement V5 won't come free if i "sell" the bike either?). Great.

You don't need the V5 to get a plate made.
It is not governed by law I think so lots of bods will clash any sort of number plate together for you.
Ebay has loads doing it.
