Anyone that can explain how a fuel tap works, the vacuum bypass and all that?
Before I sent my bike in I noticed two hoses apart from the main hose. Now one of these was plugged and the other was not. I know that one should be a bleeder hose and the other a vacuum hose. When I got it back from the shop, (they did work on the fuel tap) I noticed a leak, I went to investigate and found the one that was not plugged was leaking fuel, should this not be connected to the engine intake or something ? Having not found anything online and having chatted to a few people, I simply plugged it, just so I could safely ride the bike( without fuel leak). icon_scratch Now here is the thing, I think the bike is being starved of fuel and I am certain that plugging the vacuum hose and bleeder hose is incorrect. Could there have been a mod on the fuel tap to cause the leaks etc????
How should this system work? and how can I resolve my problem?
Can anyone help?

The one on the face of the tap, angled at 90 degrees should be hooked up to a vacuum port on one of your cyclinders, the vacuum opens the diaphragm inside the tap, without it you will be struggling to get fuel through the tap if at all.

Thank you! The bike does run and pretty well, though it does splutter around the 7000rpm region, which baffles me.

I found this https://www.akhara.com/nc30/fueltapmod/index.html I wonder if the guys at the shop tried to do this and didn't do the job properly.

Anyway, will get the bike naked this weekend and investigate.
Any idea which cylinder? What should I look out for?

Yes there is a flat spot, but this is different, it splutters as if it is not receiving enough fuel. I know it's not the carbs, as they were done when the bike went in and it was actually fine before the guys serviced the thing.

I just feel that these two hoses should be something of function and not just plugged.
