presumably that's the one where I get a 33 bhp restriction? it might be the way forward as i intend to keep the NSR for going in and out of London and want something bigger for longer trips and weekends + it would be really handy to be able to go 2 up ____________________ Pitslayer wrote "it could be Ndubz.....ruining this once great place with donkey gobbling loafer knobbing "music".

yea my A2 licence cost me around £180 + my cbt.
i did the cbt and bought a £300 125 with tax and test on it then had a go at the theory test (£20 i think) passed that 1st time so watches a few of the mod 1 videos on youtube (someone on here did a very good one)
i passed that 1st time too so booked my mod 2 for a week later and then rang up the folk i had my cbt with and asked if they would give me an hour or so before my test on the day (rather than the 3 days at £120 a day!! they wanted)
they charged me £50 for 2 hours just before my test and i passed 1st time.
it was the best £50 i spent as they just brushed up my road skills and told me where i would most prob fail my test .
i have been a car driver for 15 years so they didn't have to teach me to "drive" or how the road markings work in that 2 hours..
oh and i sold the 125 for £500 a week after passing so really the test actually gained me about £20
go for it i found that actually passing mod 1 gave me so much more confidence ____________________ Hyosung cruise 125(passed test on, sold) Kawasaki el 252 (better than expected but sold on) Kawasaki GPZ500S first "big"bike.(sold) ZZR600 E5..Z750 2007,ER5, currently on a 2008 Enfield bullet electra x and loving it..

I understand wanting to do things on the cheap but I will never understand why someone would do the A2 restricted test rather than the full unrestricted when their over the age?
I just think it's pointless, but at the end of the day it is what you want. ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

You could search around places and see what the cheapest option for DAS is and go from there, or just save up bit by bit and do the full thing?
That's what I did with very little wage!
But again, it is what you want. So all the power to you ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

You can buy a cheap big bike.
MY GT550 cost me 200 quid! (I have just spent 100 quid for new exhausts) but otherwise it's frigging awesome and does what I need it to do. And I can still have fun for it.
Fun bikes don't have to be expensive ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

Easy for you to say, I'll need something pretty special to make up for my lack of flowing perfectly kempt locks and Colombian heritage currently I'm thinking zx7r, loved them since childhood ____________________ Pitslayer wrote "it could be Ndubz.....ruining this once great place with donkey gobbling loafer knobbing "music".

Hahahahahahaha! That's made me lol properly loud!
Nothing wrong with my GT. It wheelies, it's big, it's black, it's alright on acceleration.
On the mayday run the people I was leading had plenty of fun, until it got to the straights and they were there sat commuting while I was at the limit crouched over

To be fair the OH more than makes up for any lack of style i display, but i'll be overjoyed to lose the L plates as it does somewhat make me feel like a child/loser that can't be trusted with more than 14 bhp and whether or not that is true is not the point! right, must stop thinking of fast bikes and go and do some more work, hand in at 12 tomorrow ____________________ Pitslayer wrote "it could be Ndubz.....ruining this once great place with donkey gobbling loafer knobbing "music".

Yes but would you rather show up people in their expensive slow cars on an expensive and fats bike or a cheap rustbucket with duck tape and l plates and really make them feel like crap?
Was going through the middle of wycombe the other week on my GT and someone shouted out "get a real bike!" from Yates where a group of blokes were drinking and then I pop a wheelie all the way to the end of the street, to applause and cheers from the same group, save the shouter ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

i know what you mean, i used to drive my 278bhp Renault 5 as my daily run around, no outside indication of mods with only the rather fruity exhaust note giving it away.....ah the joyous look of despair on bmw m3 drivers as they slipped away in the rear view mirror ahhhh happy days, one day the mighty Renault shall return! still I've got 17 years before my daughters old enough to drive it! ____________________ Pitslayer wrote "it could be Ndubz.....ruining this once great place with donkey gobbling loafer knobbing "music".

When you say stuff about inheritances and not having the time or cash, I assume you mean an intensive three or four day DAS course, yeah?
They should let you do lessons, to spread the time and cost. I did my DAS with one and two hour lessons every week or every other week. ____________________ Previous: 2002 Honda CB500 (sold), 2007 Suzuki SV650SK6 (crashed), 2005 Yamaha FZ6 Fazer (sold). Currently bikeless
