				| I find old songs quite creepy. Has a great soundtrack but i wouldn't listen to them for pleasure. | |

				| Been listening to Anita O'Day... pretty good if you ask me
 Connie Francis (50's)
 George Gershwin (slightly before)
 Stan Getz
 Chet Baker (again, 50's)

Mostly 50's stuff just now but I am working my way back, so good thread. Not sure what sort of music Fallout 'has' on it though so I may be well off

				| Puttin' on the ritz 1946
Found the original 1929 version if you're interested.

Loved this song as a kid. It now reminds me of being a nipper at my Nins house.

if your into your jazz try some box biederbike (spelling error), one of the orig masters of jazz
 |
Bix Beiderbecke would be the correct spelling. He's a bit before the OP's time, though, as he died in 1931. Yes, I can bore anyone to death about Bix, who is my all time favourite jazz musician.

This is him at his prime, playing Singin' The Blues in 1927. Often imitated, never bettered, even by Louis Armstrong, who was a huge Bix fan btw. Bix's solo is the second of the three minutes, and is often referred to as the magical minute of jazz, cornet solos really do not get better than that.

Ah, the inimitable Gene Krupa. Quite revolutionary for 1937.

 Man, I love this era!

For lyrics, btw, the OP could do worse than check out any recordings of Cole Porter's works, such as 'You're the Top', where the object of his love is compared to anything from Shakespeare's Sonnet to Pepsodent via a Turkey Dinner.

				| The ones to look out for in the 'easy listening' section would be Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin (composers), Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra (singers), Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller (band leaders).____________________
