Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Won a DRZ on ebay, so i went onto the online bank with halifax tried to transfer money from my account to my mums. She's the main name on the account as its the savers account i've had since i was born and i've not got round to taking her name off.

A few days later she gets an email saying they couldn't do the transfer because she wasn't named on the account ( Rolling Eyes so why does it come up on her section of online banking Evil or Very Mad ).

So i rang halifax asked what was going on "sorry sir i can't talk to you about this account" "er why not?" "your not the main account holder" cue me having go at the woman and putting the phone down Evil or Very Mad . Told my mum she said "oh we'll go into a branch on monday" so we went into branch woman behind the counter didn't know why this had happened so mum asked for the money to be transferred into my natwest current account "can't do that sorry" so she asked for cash instead "can't do that sorry" "well what can you do?" "i can give you a cheque in your name" "fine whatever".

So i put the cheque along with my pay cheque from work in on monday i said will they be in for weds morning "yep no problem" she said. And guess what it ain't cleared Evil or Very Mad

So that means i can't go pick up the DRZ today so i loose my deposit on the trailer i've hired Sad and if i don't pick it & pay by friday the seller is going to relist it Crying or Very sad (he won't let me pay through paypal cash only Middle Finger ) And i start at another job tomorrow and will be working solid up until next thursday Sad So i can't go to pick it up even when i have the money Sad .
Rant over Thumbs Down
Ps if any kind soul has £1300 lying round and fancies lending it me until tomorrow or friday (i'll give you my DT as collaterol lol) i will be very happy Very Happy

You also hate spacing your rants out as well.

You do, however, like inserting lots of smilies.

I have nothing further to add, at this juncture.

Yeah, that showed them. Bet they cried themselves to sleep that night over the missed opportunity to help you out.

I've been looking around for another bike that I'll hopefully be getting soon, I've done my research and as soon as I get the go ahead from my work that I'll have to move office I'll be buying one. Now I've been watching Ebay closely for a while and noticed quite a few sellers asking for cash only, which made me think that when I see a bike I like, I'll have to visit my bank a few days before the auction ends and make sure I've got the cash ready in time...

Wink Thumbs Up

I don't think the seller is been unreasonable.
I have been pissed about by a buyer and in the end I had to re-list the item.
He might need the money to but another bike and because you cant get the cash he might miss out also (it is called the domino effect) Thumbs Up

The auction only ended 3 days ago, if he needs the money soon then he should of used some noggin and listed it earlier, i just sold a zzr250 on ebay i made sure that it ended before the one i wanted to buy so that whatever it sold for could be added to the funds.
suppose it is mainly my own fault but if halifax hadn't messed me around then i would be ok Sad

Only 3 days?

3 days is a long time, when I sell a bike I expect it to be done and dusted in 2 days, unless agreed otherwise earlier, I always message the top 2 bidders and ask them when they'd be able to pick it up.

That's bad new woll, soumds like you are getting stressed out.
I don't know what to suggest.

I will be listing my bike on ebay soon and will specify cash only, test rides only with the full amount of cash in my hand, you crash it you bought it type wording.

I am sure even with this lots of messing around will ensue but the only other option is to sell it for peanuts to a dealer (I don't need px).

sorry but i make sure i have the cash avaiable and ready to go BEFORE finalising a deal.
or if its something i know i want and see last few hours i will email the seller first and explain that i cannot get the money for a few days, is this ok?
also when i sold my zxr400 it sold three days before i picked up a zx6r, the buyer messed me about and decided he couldnt afford it, but had used buy it now so i couldnt offer it to next bidder... luckily i had some cash and a big enough overdraft to sort it out... the original buyer emailed me about 2 days after relisting the 400 and said he wanted to buy it, i told him to turn up with notes and it was his. he did, however it turned out that the buyer of his rs125 hadnt turned up and so he never had the cash after the first purchase..

so because of one guy buying an RS not showing up, that screwed up my buyer and nearly screwed up my new purchase.

hes being unreasonable?? not really.

BTW sellers cant leave negative feedback for buyers.

can't you or mummy just take a cash advance on a credit card?

it should only cost you £26 and can be done at most banks (ideally the card issuer)

If your struggling to transfer money in/out of a bank account, why not post your banks name, your sort code, & your account numbers HERE or HERE and someone will be most helpful & move the money out of your bank for you

or don`t post even minor banking details on the internet, as it`ll be only a matter of time before someone scams you if you do Rolling Eyes

The seller is being an arse. Woll has said he will pay for it but is having issues with his bank. It will take the seller longer to get rid of the bike if he has to re-list it, which he doesn't need to do Rolling Eyes

Have a word with the seller and tell him you will make a payment direct to his bank account for the bike.
You will them pop over and pick the bike up when you can.

That should keep him quiet.

If he really wants to lose out on the sale then tough on him.

Never know it might not go for the same as you were prepared to pay this time Wink
