Evening all,

My Father-in-law got knocked off his moped on Thursday 22th of April @ 16:30 by some bint pulling out of a lay-by.

She smashed the his speed flight to peices and sent him flying, hurting his shoulder.

After reporting it to the police we phoned the insurance company about an hour later, then went on to the doc to get checked out.
By saturday he had curtisey bike delivered and was back on the road again.

A week later he had a call from the insurers telling him that the 3rd party had accepted liability.

A couple of days after that he had another call from the insurers legal people seeing if he wanted to make a claim for compo. Him being an old git didn't really want the agro but they wanted him to see another doc anyway. A couple of days later they call him back saying the other party his offering him £1000 to settle. This is a new one on me, he didn't even want to make a claim, it seems they are paying him not to make a claim before seeing a specialist.

Today he gets a call from the asserors saying his bike is a write off and they are offering him £900 for it.

So thats the full claim sorted in 3 weeks!!

Couldn't of asked for a smoother process.

His insurance company is Swintons BTW

Good news.

However it does help when the other party accepts liability straight off the bat. Usually they try to dig their heels in, and that's how it gets dragged out.

Swinton are not the insurers, simply the broker...

Really?

I went into the back of someone in September, accepted liability straight away and got a letter through last month saying it had been settled. 7 months in total Sad

@ boundy - awesome news that your father-in-law was sorted so quickly
