I ride all the way, from what i understand Rotterdam etc can be cheaper but i know amsterdam well and like to visit my certain spots.

TBH the ride there is boring and almost entirely motorways, but whenever i have ridden its been for the mission rather than a holiday type thing so that keeps you going. Personally i wouldent do it on less than a 600 just because the only thing that is remotely fun on such long motorway runs is triple digit speeds. Mind you i got a 100 euro speeding fine in Belgium for that, on the spot... Still beats 6points/ban.

Yea this is true, my idea was not to go all the way to Amsterdam to save time/money. Still will probably take the car (with 4 in will be dirt cheap on fuel anyway so RXS would be pointless and lonely!).

I know ill enjoy this trip, I havent even been near weed since new years eve, my tolerance should be gone now, i imagine getting totally licked of one pull/bonghit, want to give the old volcano vaporizer a go too...

If you fancy PMing me a few tips you can have some karma as my trip in the summer may have the same reasons Laughing .

Im currently on placement from Uni so never smoke in the week and my tolerance is very low which is great. TBH I dont think I could ever smoke every night as I used it. That groggy feeling every morning just makes it not worth it.

Enjoy the trip, to say im jealous would be an understatement!

Don't forget your toothbrush!! Or your toothpaste for that matter. Wink

Large tubs of grease work equally well, of course you can fit a lot more into tubs of grease than you can fit in toothpaste pumps. Wink

Been about 8 times over the past ten years.

A funny story that happened when some mates were trying to buy coke off a street dealer.

They were sorting the deal and had bought a gram when the dealer tried to put the rest of his stash in his pocket.
Instead of ending up in his pocket, it fell on the floor, but the dealer didn't notice.

My mate picked up his stash and handed it back to the dealer but the dealer not knowing what was going on just kept pushing my mates hand away (his english wasn't very good).

A second friend of mine clocked what was happening and grabed the stash out of my mates hand and walked off. He said later "well he had his chance".

A very good evening was then had by all, the bag had 12 wraps in it aproximately a gram each.

The dealer must of kicked himself when he realised he had lost his stash and then remembered the guy trying to give him something.

I've been once in 2007 but it was for the Sensation dance event. We flew out early friday morning and arrived at 9am in Amsterdam. We'd already been up for 24hrs and couldn't check into our hotel until 2.30pm, just ended up getting pissed all day until we got back to the hotel. We couldn't get to sleep so stayed up and got ready for Sensation.

I have to say, I've never been to anything like that before, Sensation is fucking brilliant, although I'm into hardstyle, that was something else.

Video I took from the VIP bit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iy5yaLbD6sQ

On the way back in the taxi, we bought all our coke off the taxi driver. He must have had a couple of ounzes in a bag he pulled out from under his seat, plus it was a pimped out people carrier he was driving with DVD screens in all the seats. You could tell he wasn't some crack head plus I said I wanna try some of it first so we're not buying shit gear and he let me. Any time we needed any over the next few days, we rang him and he turned up outside our hotel with it.

We also bought some tablets off some girls on the train to sensation which blew my fucking head off after just one of them.

€30-40 per person per night for hotels, flights from £50-60 with sleazyjet by booking in advance.

So £196 for two nights in expensive, but cheap hotels aren't 4 star so it depends if you want a 4 star hotel or a cheap hotel.

Hiya Ste, i've changed my airport (departing) to liverpool and has gone down by £10 easyjet want £130 without hotel, so £183 all in atm. I've tried bookin flights seperate then booking a hotel but works out more exspensive, i'm thinking of just going with the £183 to have everything sorted for me and then just go enjoy myself.

Sounds expensive to me, but then i've always gone with the budget hostel option. If your happy just having everything sorted, go for it and have fun!

Yes.

Being from the UK we were the only ones in the bar sitting with 3 drinks per person and 2+ spliffs going around. Everyone else is too sensible ._.

From the North you can take the North Sea ferry from Hull to Rotterdam and it's only a couple of hours to Amsterdam.
As mentioned it's not a pleasant ride: Rotterdam seems like motorway city with very few of those Dutch bicycles to be seen unless you go into the town centre.
I'd probably fly rather than take a bike just for a weekend, but if you have a week or so you could fit in some touring to other parts of Holland or Belgium (maybe Brugges?) or even Northern Germany.

Amsterdam seemed to have plenty of places you could squeeze in a motorbike and chain it to something substantial. No one seemed to be paid to jump out and try to charge you or fine you or clamp you unlike London Confused

I stayed room only in an incredibly tall narrow steep-staired house for a couple of nights and it was about £40 per night. This was a stones throw from Central station so pretty reasonable, and eating out was good value with good choice of cafes on the doorstep.

It seems a bit sad to go to Amsterdam to get drunk or smoke pot.
It's a lovely old place with lots to see and even the redlight zone seems to be a tourist attraction as much as anything - window shop! Mr. Green
There are a lot of drug pushers and rather aggressive beggars.
If you can't say no to them all have a few coins to hand if you must.

A sophisticated variant on the begging was an ageing-tart woman who came up to me and started giving me a verbal history of the local landmarks. She then got quite cross when I wouldn't pay her anything for talking to me while walking in the street for two minutes.
Almost everyone seems to speak reasonable English, they seem to know you are British before you say a word - not sure I want to know how....

Don't say no to them, don't say anything at all to them, just keep walking.

"Neet" is "no" in Russian and the dutch beggars/drug dealers/thieves don't speak Russian so they'll leave you alone and go and bother some English tourists. Wink

There are active traffic wardens in Amsterdam, but I think motorbikes are only in 'danger' if overstaying in a time restricted area or parking somewhere that's really causing an obstruction.
