I have just had a quick look and its a celeron processor so I would steer well clear. Unless you are ust doing office stuff, but this is no games machine.

The processor contributes vastly to the 9 hour battery potential .. and it's dual core celeron ... what that means compared to my desktop dual core 2 duo 2.66 i'm unsure ...

It's stylish and has mega batterryy and the bigger screen that the mini 10 i was going to get, tried mums one out, pants ...

Now it will run 2D poker apps, which is the main thing, i just wondered if it had some dedicated graphics ram .. as i play CNC 3 online ... which runs with my desktop 256 mb radeon ...

It's no bother if it does not run cnc 3 though ..

It could be the machine that makes buying a solar power panel i was going to get, now not needed ....

I saw the deal down from 400 on hotdeals ... and peeps have gave it good reviews aswell ..

Anyway it's the best one i've found so far that fits my needs, it's kinda half way between a netbook and a lappy ...

Always open to ideas and suggestions ... Thumbs Up

Do you need the smaller 13" screen?
Because if you don't better spec 15" screen ones can be had for the same money

The battery life will be about 3-4hours depending on use on a 15" laptops
but then dont expect to get 9hours out of the 13" laptop either!

All depends how important battery life is for you

Yeah, battery life is paramount ... that asus thing if i run the low graphics setting and windows power saver mode, then i imagine like reviews suggest .. it will get 8 or more hours .. so in the bedroom or garden and away from home those extra few hours will help big time ... Thumbs Up

in my experience its more WIFI that is going to drain the battery alot
We have netbooks at work which run 1.5hrs longer with the WIFI turned off which kind of defeats the object off them

Interesting, i will be using USB modem in the garden and away from home, and wifi in the bedroom, unless that proves crap ... Thumbs Up

what do you actually need it for?
the samsung n150 has long battery life but cannot really use it for games. look for something that has a dual graphics card. one for light usage and one for more intense stuff like games.

Main use, internet browsing and playing poker ...

I don't do games really, except for cnc3 .. i'm not buying a higher spec machine to play it, i can play it at home .. however my mates old laptop is pretty poor but can play cnc 3 on low settings, so if i can play cnc3 it's a bonus, but batterry is the main consideration and size, both of which this asus has, along with metal styling and a fair price ... i'm 99 percent going to buy one wednesday, especially now i've ditched the solar power panel purchase at least for now .. Thumbs Up
