mine has 18,500 on the clock and still going strong! iv put nearly 10,000 miles on the clock! It seems to go on forever! Just keep an eye on your oil. mine seems to burn a bit when it gets hot!

yeah mate, when doing a oil change i just put 1l in! when doing a oil change once most of the oil drained out on its own I take it off its stand it tip a little more over and it drains more oil that way!

i change my oil every 6 months and keep it topped up monthly! some people say its to much but i dont care. keeps fresh oil in my bike and it s only £10 for 1L of oil anyway!

iv just brought a nice new pipe for my XR too

Can't fault it, could do with a new one myself.

Yeah I plan on doing the same, from what I've read/been told it seems like it's best to change the oil every 1000 or so miles to keep thing running perfectly on CG/XR engines, and for a tenner here and there it seems silly not to as you say.

yeah i tend to do my every 1200/1500 miles! With shell's oil range. but I met someone who owned a '80 CG with 96,000 on the clock and he said he uses cheap oil in his and never had a problem!
