The wife came home with the series DVD last night, popped it on for a gander. Does it take a while to get going or is it just crap?

Seen the first 2, nothing happens until the last minute of each episode and have no idea as to where the story is supposed to be going other than no where? Oh and the hick accent is wearing very, very tiresome too.

Any True Blood fans care to enlighten me a little?

I love it Thumbs Up

First season is more 'believable' then the second (Laughing), but yeh, it does start to get good. The sex dies off a bit though Thumbs Down, but the characters develop well Thumbs Up

There are worse things to be stuck watching mate, she could be inflicting SATC, Ugly Betty or *shudder* Diary of a call girl.

Books are better than the TV series.

My wife loved the first series, and I quite liked it too as she was always horny after watching it, she's very disappointed the second series hasn't been aired terrestrially, but not half as much as me. Sad

My missus loves it too, both series so far - and she picked up all the books from Ebay too. I think she's obsessed!

Just wanted to bump this, only started watching True Blood the other day & think it's brilliant, on season 3 already.

Really like when they can balance the humour in shows like this, not to much to make it a comedy but enough to keep it fresh. Jason never fails to make me laugh.

Season 3 is good so far, although i really liked the first 2 seasons where not 'much' was happening, they built up a nice show which revolved around Bon Temps & the diner & the story was strong enough to keep you interested. Guessing this season opens up much more.

Anyone ever visited these little Southern towns? They look very community driven & relaxing/quiet.

I'm afraid it's not real, however if you want to know about real southern towns then speak to Robby.

Well, I've been to Mississippi and explored it pretty well... all over Jackson, Vicksburg etc. etc. Unfortanutely not on a bike. Got lost a load of times and ended up in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by corn farms and stuff. Talking to the locals was near impossible though, strong geordie accent vs strong southern accents just don't mix. Got stuck at a petrol station cos the sales assistant was amazed at my accent - was kinda creepy actually Laughing All American stero types apply, all fat, talk on their phones while they drive, can't drive very well etc.

As for True Blood, I seem to have lost interest... I'm about 6 episodes behind, just cba to watch it.
