yes, quite possibly the petrol has gone stale and is need in replacing.

Drain the tank and refill with fresh petrol.

I suppose the carbs has gummed up with old petrol?

Did you drain the carbs before storing it?

what bike is it?

It could be as easy as taking the fuel hose from the tank and then draining it and disposing it.

Re connect and refill tank

You need to check and possibly replace your oil, inner-tubes, petrol and clean your carb. What bike is it?

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston?

Could do, but ideally you need to give the whole bike a service!

Carb cleaning
Check tyres n- pressures and condition
Check brake and they are not bindig (check wheel spins freely)
Check/replace battery
Oil/check chain
Replace crankcase oil with new
Top up 2 stroke oil and check pump is setup and working properly.

I imagine these have a power valve as well? Should click on startup if not then ignore that

erm other can feel free to add to the list

Yeah,
Spunky stroker,
I would suggest get the seat off, lift the tank and get the air box off (2 screws) and open the air box, clean the box filter (warm soapy water, rinse, leave to dry then re oil), whilst your there get the carb out (loosen and wiggle off the rubber intake mainfold), drain the fuel and strip it down a little, clean it all with carb cleaner (clean off any *varnish* left by old fuel), once thats clean, throw that back together and back on, new sparkplug might be a good idea, air filter back on, clean/grease the chain, fresh fuel, 2 stroke oil and 10w40 for the bottom end.

Fire her up, she should be smoking plenty, if not i would reccomend checking out the oil pump, dont want to blow her up if its gummed up and not working.

All that is left to do once these bases are covered would be to take her out and give her a good thrashing, as its a tuned 2 stroke it will *blow out the cobwebs* Thumbs Up

A check over the breaks prior would be wise though.

Have you just bought the bike?

Depending on the mileage you may want to consider a compression test to see how she's doing inside incase the rings need to be changed, better to catch these early as if they go it could total the top end meaning a full rebuild + barrel as appose to maybe just rings and or a piston (20-80 piston/piston,rings + bits).

Let us know, if you plan to keep the bike for a while a little preventitive maintinance could go a long way Smile

Best regards
