Something I was told by a driving examiner. Give three clicks per hazard.
1) Click when you first see the hazard.
2) Click when it's blatantly obvious it's a hazard.
3) Click a third time when the vehicle it's being filmed from starts to react.
If it doesn't progress from the first to the last, don't click again. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

Grab the practice DVD or borrow one. It's very helpful on the hazard perception. ____________________ My Flickr |

My wife is on L plates, she recently passed the hazard test, (failed the swerve test though). She bought an AA pass your motorycle theory test book and CD, so I had a go...
Apparently snow on a mini-roundabout isn't a hazard!
the whole thing was filmed from inside a car, and so the road positioning would be different, and when you corner there is no indication that you are cornering, the camera just points dead ahead, so you don't "look where you want to go, not where you are going"
I failed my practice, cos like on a hill leaving a posted 30 into a national I see a cyclist in the distance, that's a hazard, cos I'm going to nail 60 as soon as I pass that national sign, but I clicked too early
Going through town, in my mind I'm filtering naturally, and clicking hazards left and right, that doddery old guy with the shopping trolley up ahead just stepped in front of that parked bus, I bet he's going to step out - get over on the right damn you! RIGHT! RIGHT, on the white line! aagh I can't see. How is that mini-cab not a hazard? u-turn alert! etc
yeah, defo get some practice DVDs, and learn what it is they want of you to pass the test. |
