Optimal Temperature for 2 Strokes

Hi, I was just wondering what's the best temperature to start riding at without a fear of it cutting out or seizing.

By temp sensor comes on at 30C, but I usually wait till it hits about 40C before I ride it.

It reaches 60C after abouty 15mins in neutral, occasionally high revving.

BASICALLY....

What's too hot and too cold?

what bike is it?
sounds like your doing things the right way though.
iirc, the optimum operating temp is 63deg, whether that means anything on the road,who knows?

Quoting A.G.Bell from his tuning books 68-70C gives maximum power and reliability.

however if you just want to avoid engine ware, I would just let your bike warm up for a couple of minutes, and use an oil that has A3\...A4 listed in the oil specs.

If it`s a 2 stroke use a 2 stroke oil that has the spec JASO FC or JAS FD.

Start it and run it until it will hold a stable tickover with the choke fully off. Then ride it gently for 10min, keeping the revs low and load fairly light. Then thrash it hard as much as you want for as long as you want. Keep the 2stroke oil topped right up to avoid air getting into the system.
