new to the forum so firstly hi.....i am wanting to buy a rider to pillion coms unit but they all seem very expensive.

also tbh dont want to spend a absolute fortune and kind of like the idea of having no wires but.......i have never had 1 before so dont know if its naff tech?

wanted to get ideas of individual units and also helmets with them already built in....

also pros/cons of different systems ,wired ,un-wired/blue-tooth etc

I've never used one myself but I know that you need one with a noise cancelling mic and headseat. I think intercoms are one of those things where you get what you pay for. Cheapest way might be to get te soldering iron out and make your own using quality components or buy a quality used one.

Scala rider teamset is the way to go, bluetooth, wirefree. Batteries last 2 days on constantly, connect to phone or whatever else you want, can chat to someone on the phone or pillion or both at the same time while doing a decent pace and the person on the phone thinks you are in the office having a cuppa.
I'm a long distance courier and been using these scala rider sets for 3 years and are totally superb after the amount of others i've tried.

Not cheap but i've tried loads and they've all been crap, so after you've spent £30 x 4 on a load old shit you could just save money and buy a decent one to start off with

Plenty of helmets with bluetooth now from £80 ish (V-Cans) upwards Works fine with the phone, so as a intercom should be OK.

Personally unwired is the way to go, less chance of forgetting when getting off the bike and no messy wires to worry about.
