I'm sure we've had this before - but maybe we've got some new figures to put out there. Very Happy

I did a 6000 mile bike trip through Europe last year in 3 weeks and completed the final leg of 1167 miles in under 24 hrs - through 5 European countries - this included many fuel stops, stopped to eat 3 times, loadsa breaks to stretch and have a smoke/drink water - waited for a ferry for 1.5 hrs and then 1.5hrs on the ferry and slept on a grass verge near Exeter for 2 hours. I think I was in the saddle for about 15 hours. Yes I was speeding Laughing

Wind chill gave me mega bad sunburn, then hitting all the dragon flies at dusk was really bloody painful Laughing

I'm pretty sure that I managed 500 miles in 24 hours from Ireland back to good old south east England. And that was on a CG not really being able to go past 55MPH on windy A roads. There were some sleeping stops involved though if I'm brutally honest, including waking up in the lay-by of a dual carriage way without a clue how I got there. Sleep deprivation does funny things.

Anyway, I can't wait until I get a bike capable of really tearing up the miles across the continent. I think Europe is calling my name this year Thumbs Up

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston?

clocked up around 650 in one days riding. We headed off for a decent ride to have lunch. Then over lunch someone mentioned we we close enough to the Oxley to make a ride of it.
Seems my understanding of what 'close' is and my mates seems to differ somewhat.

With just over 1000kms done in the day I was rat shit when I rolled in the driveway that night. Very Happy

970 miles on a 600 Revere in 1999. I felt like I was still riding even when I was asleep.

On the forum my Dad goes on they have done a couple of charity 24 hours. First time they did John O Groats to Lands End in 24 hours, and then next time they went through the 5 Capitals in 24 hours (Edinburgh, Belfast, Dublin, Cardiff and London) and this year their challenge is to go from the East of England to the West coast of Ireland before sun set

Longest I have done is probably around 400 miles, which isn't too bad on my 250 Laughing

Think the most I've done is 500(ish) on a faired bandit 12.

Done 400 on a 350 goose.

And 265 on a C70.

1265 miles in about 30 hours. No sleep, all at less than 70mph as I needed to conserve fuel as I was skint. Mad

Gap to Liverpool in 20ish hours through Paris, so not the most direct route.

Probably knocking on for 1000 miles, surprisingly I didn't really feel the effects of it either, although the UKBA staff at Calais were shocked when I told them where I had come from... Thumbs Up Laughing

Blackpool to Edinburgh and back again in one day

According to RAC Route Planner, that's ~378 miles each way - so ~756 miles
