Has anyone encountered these non slip surfaces on the roads before? They are usually and the end of dual carriage ways before junctions/lights and are sometimes on tight corners. Just wondered if anyone else thinks it is more difficult to control the bike, especially leaning it over! Feels alot heavier, this is probably because the surface is stickier but i feel as if it's alot harder to turn. Think it's made form the same stuff as the buslanes.

Known as 'shellgrip' I believe. Never had a problem turning on it, but it's lovely and grippy... so ideal for stoppies up to junctions Smile.

yeah they do make it harder to turn due to increased friction...but on the upside if its a roundabout with it all the way around you know you can lean it over and feel more confident Smile

We've got quite a few around here.

THEY ARE NOT NON-SLIP.

Only a little less slippy than the rest of the road.

You can normally use them well to give it a little bit more on the brakes coming up to a roundabout, or whatever, but DO NOT rely on it. Get used to them individually and be aware that the road surface is going to change mid-manouvre. Luckily they are normally a different colour to the rest of the road.

They are not there for stoppies, but to help with road safety.

They are great on roundabouts for knee down but they do chew up your slides and tyres very quickly.

Do you mean "Drive" or "Ride". Are you a Max-Power member? You do seem to hate bikers a little.
