If the popping is happening under deceleration, it is possible that you have an air leak between the carb and the inlet manifold. OTOH if its when you are just pootling along it could be that your running a little too rich. Have you checked the colour of your plug  |

by reduced speeds, do you mean when you roll off the throttle and let it do engine braking.
My scorpion canned GT125 did that, has it still got the baffle in?
Carbs dont need to be adjusted for a scorpion can 
You can fit the new plugs...they are a pig to get at, take the tank off etc, best to have a friend to hold it up as the mounts just fall off 
If the spark plug is real black, its rich, if its a nice coffe/tan colour you are fine, if its white check your bank account for a carb setup/new bike
Should be fine though...my bike was ace with a scorpion, except mine had an air filter + rejet and it popped when you let go of the throttle and it got to 5000rpm |

ok thanks i have just bought some irridium plugs so i will put them in next week if it is running rich what do i do it only pops when i roll off throttle like you said ,thanks for replies. |

Actually it makes a very small improvement to mpg & on a 2 stroke they last at least twice as long, & often even 3 times longer than standard plugs. I used to use platinum plugs (forerunner of iridium) on my TS50ER, then I tried them on my X7 (1000 miles from standard plugs) 5000 from platinum, then on my RG250 gamma mk1 & finally I USED THEM ON MY RG500 GAMMA. All these bikes were purchased new & all improved to a degree that at least equalled the added cost involved. I fitted iridium to my sons bike & he has also noticed a small improvement over standard plugs performance & fuel economy, longer life to be confirmed as of yet, but I fully expect that too.
The spark is much stronger giving a much better fuel/air burn making marginal improvements in performance too, we're talking acceleration here, not top speed & its very marginal too. A bit like using super unleaded only less. The smaller the bike the more noticable it is too. 
If it makes no difference perhaps you can explain why Mitsubushi choose to fit Iridium Spark Plugs as standard equipment to the EVO?
