Got pulled the other day and my tyre and plate were mentioned, managed to blag i had a new tyre at home and a full size plate coming because mine was on there when i bought it. They said i have to meet them where they are based on saturday and show that i have a proper plate fitted and new tyre otherwise they will take it further.

Tyre has been done but cant put my proper plate on till my mate gets back from holiday monday so i can get the plate holder from his . ( I have s N30 style plate stuck on)

Can they still do me for it if i dont turn up and show them ?

Meet them where, cop shop ?...

Don't go on the bike, take the receipt for the tyre to show them and explain you haven't used the bike since, or bought the bike with you as you're still waiting on the plate/hanger...

Seems there is only one way out.

Crash the night before, destroying the bike, and making you be in hospital all day Sat (and possibly a few days more)

probably could have made one in the time it took to write that.
drill 4 holes in a piece of sheet metal and bend it at 90 degrees.

Stick it on top of the existing one with sticky-backed velcro.

He can't, if it's like Glyns/lllN30llls it's flat to the undertray, you still won't see it, plus if it's hanging down from the other one it'll touch the swingarm being that far under...

Depending on loctaion of you plate, you may not need a bracket.

Just make a small hole on each side of your small plate and attach the leagal one over the top, ?

They're giving you the chance to not get done for it, so whay risk not doing what they've asked?

My plates aren't too bad, although the plate on the KLX does get some looks. Shifty.

Weirdly enough, what I've managed to infer from the MOT guidelines is that you need to have a plate light, but it doesn't need to be anywhere near the plate itself.

With enough tape you could easily have it sticking up vertically from your back seat, I don't see what all the fuss is about Thumbs Up
