Wheel bearing problem!

hi,
i have a aprilia sr50r and a few weeks ago i noticed the wheel would wobble and i could feel it threw the rear break, so i took it the shop i bought the bike from, and they said the wheel bearing was fucked. so i got them to replace it cost about £60 so not cheap. and now its been about 2weeks since i got it replaced and its doing it again, any ideas? its not a old bike its 09 plate with low miles so it shouldent have any problems and i dont abuse it like most 16 year olds with peds.

An 09 bike would still be under warranty, how come you have to pay for a repair like that?

Either way, there's no way the original bearings should be wrecked let alone the replacements.

well my original rear tyre popped, so a mate gave me a spare used one which was pretty wrecked, and the shop were acusing me of doing burnouts, and i told them i was using my friends old tyre but they pretty much tryed getting off doing it on the warranty at all costs. so yeah im thinking it must be a more serous problem than just bearings, but im going go back to the shop that did it and argue with them because they might have fitted it incorrectly. theres no way im paying them to do it again.

So what if you were doing burnouts? None of their business and it wouldn't affect the wheel bearings anyway.

Unless the bearing spacer tube is either missing or the wrong length, that would cause the bearings to fail very quickly indeed Sad

just take it back, demand they repair it under warranty and refund you for the price of the bearings.

You as a customer have the right to use your warranty period...otherwise you leave the shop with your cash held tight...

Just get back in there and DEMAND its sorted..if that fails, trading standards Wink

Or a missing spacer between the cush drive and the wheel (assuming that bike has one)?

Very easy to miss it out if you've had the wheel out.

Never tampered with the wheels myself. the only person that could have messed it up is the shop.
