GSXR 600 K1, trackbike so probably been ragged.

Whilst trying it out on circuit for the first time I found that if I: accelerate over roughly 11,000 rpm
or
crack the throttle all the way open
then

the revs would jump roughly 2000 rpm. It felt like hitting the top end of the power, as there was little acceleration once it did this
the biggest noticeable thing was the noise, but I think possibly the rear wheel was spinning faster too but I cant confirm this because it didnt really affect my stability.

When I change up and the revs drop again it goes away.

Its almost as if I was to feather the clutch to let the revs go higher. So could this be a clutch issue?... either the clutch itself or the adjustment?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like the clutch is slipping. First thing to do is check it's adjusted right.

Thanks

Loosen off the cable, undo the locknut on the screw bwhind the rubber seal, loosen the screw then wind it in until it touches, turn it back 1/2 a turn, lock it off with the locknut, adjust the cable free-play.

hmmm thats what I did before. I must have either got the screw wrong or the cable wrong. Problem is the only place to test is on track or rolling road.
