I know you lot are good at this sort of stuff.

I have just got a second hand derbi senda. It has just had an engine rebuild and has loads of compression. Only problem is, I can't get it to spark.

Model is this: VTHSENDAGVH126509

I need this info.
WHat is the correct spark plug for this engine?
Are there wiring diagrams available for this model?
What is the proper name for this model?
Is a battery needed just to start the bike? I am using kickstart
The chain is touching the kickstand when im not on it, is this ok?
Chain is loose even though tensioners are near full. How tight should it be?

Sorry for all the questions but any help is appreciated.

Anything else that can help. Just need to get it sparking, fuel and compression are good. I am not worried about lights, it won't be going on the road.

have owned both the ccm604 (rotax) and the ccm644(suzuki)
both need exhausts to up the power as there strangled as standard the suzuki is smoother but the rotax has more power and is cheaper and easyer to tune very easy to service and good service intervals unlike most supermotos
ccm are back in buisness alan clews the founder of the company bought the company back
best of all there cheap heres a pic of my 97 rotax i picked up as is for £1000 had it a year now and had no problems oh and i do 80 miles aday on it

Hi. I own a Honda cg 125cc which recently started to sound terrible and lose power so my friend did a compression test on it. It got just 55psi so I was assuming it was a piston ring problem or valve problem etc.

However, I've just discovered two small holes in the exhaust where it connects to the engine, which would explain why it's a bit louder and sounding worse, and even why some power is lost, but would this explain a loss of compression in my cylinder? I'm still concerned there's something wrong with the engine as well, and yes it does have enough oil in it.

Thanks.

Oh wow, 2,916 posts ago I was doubting the immortality of my Honda CG Shocked how naive I was Laughing

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston?

Hello,

I am Charlie, 17 and live in a little town near Preston. At the moment am riding a Honda City Fly on L plates. Hope to be getting my test done soon. Then I think I want the 250 hornet, hard to come by I know. But still I want one Very Happy

I had a scooter before that, Honda x8rs, was a good bike, learn't quite a lot on that. Even got the stand down twice Very Happy

Erm, I am currently at Blackpool Sixth Form College and have just (Friday) finished all my AS exams. I am(was) studying Electronics, Geography, Computing, and Applied ICT. Hopefully should do well in the exams Cool

Not sure what else to put. So yeah, hi.

To follow the post up, I now live in Leeds most of the time as I am at university there doing Electronics & Computer Engineering... I got my honda hornet 250 and despite what people said I only had to travel 15 miles to get one... And I did do well in my exams like I thought I did.

All in all quite a boring first post.

Ok, Its coming up to my 16th birthday, meaning college soon - which also brings the travelling.

Im looking for a geared bike, nice to ride on roads for a new rider.

Im not wanting to spend too much on the bike as the insurance is going to set me back quite a way, and i'd rather get my full license at 17 along with a new bike.

So here i am requesting your help! What would be a good bike for me to get? Im looking to spend somewhere around £600-700 on the bike itself, second/third hand (or even more!) leaving me with some cash for equipment, my CBT and gear.

Many Thanks

Mark

Get a new Chain, they may have just been disturbed or they may come back with a better set of Bolt Croppers, It's not worth the risk.

I know it's connected to a Ground Anchor, but try and keep the chain as taught as possible, wrap it around the wheel/bike a few times if you can. It makes it a bit harder to separate and cut and if the lock's off the floor you know they can't try opening it with a sledge hammer!
