Top 10 games

Someone posted this and deleted the post by the time I'd replied. Here's my top 10 games of all time:

1. Final Fantasy VII (PS) - Best storyline to a game I have ever witnessed. Was proper upset when I finished it cause I didn't want it to end.
2. Counter Strike 1.6 (PC) - I've played 500+ hours and don't intend on stopping.
3. Grand Theft Auto 3 (PS2) - Possibly the game that amazed me the most, cause it was so advanced for its time, and wasn't marketed enough to be over hyped.
4. Metal Gear Solid (PS) - Had such creative ideas.. Haven't seen anything like it.
5. Gran Turismo 3 A-spec (PS2) - Countless hours of fun, and like all GT games very advanced for its time.
6. Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow (GB) - Just because of how much I loved it when I got it, and I really liked the whole trading system.
7. Sonic Adventure (Dreamcast) - Love it. Minigames on the memory card made this game stand out for me.
8. Command & Conquer Red Alert (PC/PS) - Got it on the PS2 and was blown away. Very challenging as well.
9. FIFA 2010 (PS3/Xbox 360) - Best FIFA game out there I think, can spend days on end with mates.
10. Metroid Prime (Gamecube) - So innovative, so much stuff to check out even if they're not necessary.

Just off the list: Final Fantasy X (PS2) - Very good game, lots of sidequests and amazing CGI cutscenes, but no way near as emotionally capturing as FFVII, and not as replayable IMHO.

Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater (PS2) - Amazing game, but I felt it was just missing something... Almost preferred.

Tourist Trophy (PS2) - So much potential wasted... It's not close to my top 10 but worth mentioning.

Don't know what the hype about MW2 is. Doesn't even have dedicated servers... I guess it's good to be a console FPS

1. Gonna clump the RE series from 1-3 and code veronica as my first fave games.

Resident evil 1 (PSX) first game i got with my playstation when i was back in school scared the hell out of me.

Resident evil 2 (PSX) Got this for my birthday and bunked off school for 2 days to play it while my parents went away. Managed a good 48 hours straight on it getting all the endings and extra characters. Also got a further 3 days off from school as my left eye ended up with a strain injury HAHA Happy days

Resident evil 3 (PSX) another great title

Resident evil Code Veronica (Dreamcast)What can i say Way before its time the graphics were awesome the storyline was great and the health bar incorporated into the memory card screen was a great idea. After that the re series went lame and boring.

2. Silent hill 1 (PSX) Probably the most scarey game i ever played. Played it through the night when i got it with the lights off. STill remember my heart jumping out my chest hearing crashes and bangs unexpectedly. WAS AWESOME

Silent hill 2-3 were also great after that they went crap and lost the fear factor.


3. Parasite Eve 2 (PSX) under marketed game was like the re and silent hill series.

4. Eternal darkness Sanitys Requiem. (GAMECUBE)
ANother great horror game. The sanity meter was an awesome touch. Having the volume on your tv start to go down on its own or the controler unplugged text come up on your screen when in a room full of enemys got the heart rate going HAHA

5. Fallout 3. (PC) Great game, Huge free roaming world. What more can you ask for.

6. BIOSHOCK. (PC) The visuals were awesome althoug the game was a bit linear. Still enjoyed it though.

7. Rollercoaster tycoon 2 (PC) Good fun game for passing the time.

8. Transport Tycoon (PC) Had this on my old P133 with 16 meg ram played for days addictive and good fun.

9. Sims 2. (PC) Funny game spent ages moving in sims then killing them in fires to build a grave yard in the garden HAHA

10. FEAR. (PC) Another horror. Good story line all the addons worked well with each other. An all round good game.

Chronicles Of Riddick, Escape From Butcher Bay - Brilliant visuals for age & has awesome gameplay/story.

GTA San Andreas - Not much can be said, no doubt has the best soundtrack in any game.

Dead Rising - Amazing game if you haven't played it yet. Very rarely do i get interested in a video game story but this one had me hooked. Very clever in that it manages to be completely ridiculous whilst being serious at the same time. Dead Rising 2 is out soon, with online play!

BF2 - Best FPS i've ever played.

Fallout 3 - Takes a while to get used too, mainly because if you didn't give it a chance, you'd think it sucked i.e 5 shotguns rounds to a human head & their still running at you. Great atmosphere that keeps you playing for hours & hours. Huge map but most of it isn't worth exploring, which sucks when you've just walked 10 minutes real time.. Could of put some interactive bits in most parts of the map instead of a rock & half a house.

Mario Kart 64, don't think you'll find a better split screen game then this. The simplicity of it add to this to. Takes about 10 seconds from the menu screen to get into an actual race. Many laughs to be had.

Donkey Kong (SNES) Still has one of the best original soundtracks to a game i've heard, simple game play & maybe one of the best looking back in the day.

10 in no particular order. Chosen for their revolutionary ideas, which meant I spent far too long playing them...

River Raid (Atari 2600) - First game I ever played.
Fallout 3 (360) - Too many hours put in, but totally worth it.
C&C RA (PC) - LAN Skirmish.
Civ 1 (PC) - Just plain good.
The Sims (PC) -
Gran Turismo (PSX) - My intro to jap muscle.
Sonic 1 (SMD) - First game for my first console.
Resident Evil 2 (PSX) - Would make the list with Tofu alone!
GTA 1 (PSX) - I will remember Demo 11 forever.
FFVII (PSX) - Predictable, but cannot be left out.

Sorry to dump so many francises in there

I feel both the point and click games I listed are basically the same between the sequals same engine etc. So they count as 1 each.

But Resident Evil if I had to pick one it would be number 1 but weather the remake or the original is difficult to say and that really says alot about the quality of the remake, must be the best remake of all time IMO really captures the spirit of the game.

The 2 racing games get up there for the the sheer amount of time spent on it, that is the same for Fallout and FFVII.

Gears of war is my favourite shooter good storyline and brilliant action and brutal.

Half life is awesome, I can't choose between the two.

Vampire, this game would be widely known if the company hadn't gone bust and chucked it out half finished. Once it is patched up and playable it is awesome well worth playing.

Would be in the list if it wasn't for the fact you can only control 12 units at one time and it basically makes a whole race pointless to use.

Total Annilation

Truely an epic game, very large scale (for the time)

Portal

Portal even though short is one of the best designed games ever. Only in the maybes because of Vampire and the fact it isn't ment to be a 'proper' game.

Freelancer

So much possiblity, the story was too short.
