Hey Everyone

Coming up to the date when i can take my restrictors out only i'm not sure which date. Is it two years from:

A) The day you passed your test

B) The day you put the restrictors in

C) The day you bought and insured the bike

Any ideas? carn't wait.

The day you passed your test.

The restriction is on your licence.

You mean you actually have to have restrictors in for the restriction period?

My restriction is up in about a month and a half. woopie Laughing

2 years has gone quick. If i were still on 33bhp though im sure it would have gone a lot slower lol.

Do the police/authorities not care whether you've got restrictors or not then? My biker friend seems to think that as long as I'm not speeding everywhere and don't buy a fireblade I'll be ok, even though I have significantly more than 33 horses available to me Razz

I've been pulled over only once in 5 years riding, but that was because there was a line of coppers doing random spot checks by the roadside and i came off a roundabout in a low gear (very loud!!).

they didnt mention it at all, even after they checked my license etc.

I'm not gonna say everyone will get away with it all the time, but its almost a moot point.

Interesting. I'll probably get a smaller bike after my test anyway; that's if I can find the money to upgrade from the RXS at all. Most likely a Honda CB250 (one of the ones with more like 30 than 20bhp), Honda Bros 400 or GPZ305. It mostly depends on what I can get on the cheap though.

Although I don't want to sell my RXS I may have to face up to needing the money...

I rode for 18 months out of 24 months without my restrictors in. No questions at all, no nothing.

Although my friend's ZX6R scares the bejeesus out of me at the moment. I'm sure a 33bhp bike will start feeling pretty slow after a while. But 12>100bhp still seems like a bit of a scary jump atm.

I know what you mean. The 33bhp did get a bit boring on the Hornet. It just didn't feel right.

when G helped me take my restrictors out I had a quick go and I was a little bit... not scared but excited. It really isn't all what people make it out to be.

If you're an ok rider with some self preservation and don't use the throttle as an on-off switch you'll be fine.
