Recommend me a digital camera

As above, looking for something about the £150 mark, something along the lines of a Sony DSCW350L or Panasonic DMC-FS30EB .
I know bugger all about cameras so thought id ask the gurus on here.

I have a Nikon coolpix S550 which is doing a good job for me.

I'll tell you why I chose it:
It has a lithium ion battery rather than taking disposable batteries.

The shutter lag is very low if you turn off some of the fancy electronic stabilisation features meaning it takes a picture when you press the button, not half a second later.

It takes SD cards.

It has a tripod socket

It has a manual focus option.

It has a decent level of optical zoom for that type of camera.

Ultimately though. I had three cameras in my price range which had the features I wanted. The two factors which made me choose this one over the others were:
1) Feel. It felt more solid in the hand. The buttons were more positive, the catches and latches seemed less flimsy.
2) It's a Nikon. Nikon make good cameras, always have.

It has a load of other features too. Some of them are just silly like the smile detection (automatically takes a picture when the subject smiles) and some of the preset shooting modes are a bit pointless. It does have face recognition software so it'll focus on peoples faces automatically. The panorama assist is good.

The video is pretty good too considering it isn't primarily designed to be a video camera.

All in all, I'm pretty pleased with it. The colour reproduction of daylight and low light, outside stuff is very good indeed. It works well in very strong light where I've seen others give a washed out image. The flash is a bit hit or miss though.

fujifilm finepix s1500

im a tattoo artist so needed summat for close up, macro settings are easy to master, looks like a "real" camera, takes sd, rechargeable, tripod, strap, flash,10.0mp, video

S1500 is a bit too big, looking for a compact. Probably gonna go for a fuji though, the F70EXR. Sounds like its the best of the compacts and actually better than its replacement, the F80. Only thing it doesnt do is hd video.
