Of course, it is outrageously dangerous for that guy to ride at that speed, but it was perfectly safe for the cop bike to ride at that speed, cause he has speshul training, and, err, superpowers...

tbf tho, his swerving through traffic wasnt exactly the safest biking i've ever seen but i agree it is kind of ironic to be touting 'road safety' showing someone doing high speed with no ill effects at all

Some of the undertakes could have been delayed a bit to see if the car ahead moved over (one did).. but i hate it when a cop bike follows for so long just to see what happens to make the rider feel pressured by another bike behind him.

OK so the rider was being a bit of a twat undertaking like that. But to me it seems like the 140+ registered on the plod clock was only as he was playing catch-up. He just didn't seem to pace him for a distance at that speed. None the less he did have a bit of welly on there

A brief burst of 140 is nothing to a big bike and traffic is pretty light on that road with excellent visibility way ahead.
The cars hogging the outside lane were causing more danger than the bike.

This is why I won't get anything faster than what I have got, on a litre bike it seem much easier to hit 140 almost effortless, yet it gets you in big trouble. Alright both my bikes can hit 140 and get to 115 in no time, anthing after that has to be very deliberate if you know what I mean. I can easily hit 100mph without realising it.

Cops are terrible for driving right up your arse.

I saw some newborn kittens today. They looked like little rats but made the sweetest little meow I have ever heard! And then I met some fluffy little month old kittens, and they are the cutest things you will ever see.

There were 6 kittens in that litter and so one or two were expected to die. They say they don't really know why but I do. Damn you speeding bikers, damn you

Yes he was in the wrong for travelling at that speed but he wasn't a major hazard to other road users, in fact the roads were fairly empty and he wasn't that bad at control either so I would have thought a month or two ban and a heavy fine or points would have been far better

Whilst we're at it, the lane control of the copper at the beginning wasn't that great either!

Personally I have no sympathy for this guy, but thats just my opinion.

Spoke to a police officer where I work who is ex-traffic. He said the reason the plod bike wont have pulled the other guy over is that many forces have a policy of not pursuing bikes as they dont want to pressure them into making a mistake, specially at the speeds litre bikes can do. So, as shown in the link, they gather evidence, back off, then send out a N.I.P.
I can see the logic behind this as you can imagine the danger involved in a potentially 170mph pursuit.

On another note this incident is pretty much the reason I only have an sv650. I know that my bike is capable of a max 125mph (verified on I.O.M). I know this would still get me in trouble, but it does mean that by the time I get to 90-100 I know about it.
This is just my own way of trying to keep my bike license, which i treasure dearly!!!

It really pisses me off how they keep coming up with more and more ways to stop people doing things they enjoy. I know it's obviously dangerous to do that speed on the road, but if you know what you're doing and you're vigilant, it doesn't have to be as bad as it's made out to be. I think undercover bikes are as bad if not worse than hidden speed cameras because if you see another biker behind you giving it some it's sort of instinctive to boot it a bit and have some fun, rather than just hooning on your own and feeling more like an anti-social prick.

Sometimes I think about how things would be if certain people were born in different places with less power and how the world would have turned out. Maybe we wouldn't have invented roads or internal combustion at all, or maybe everyone would be allowed to enjoy the roads rather than them being used as a money making machine by stuck-up pricks-in-suits. Better training over more restriction IMO.

I used to think I loved this country but when I see the amount of regulation on everything compared to other countries it makes me sick. I want to go somewhere I can enjoy riding fast on well-kept roads without having to worry about some cunt tricking me into riding fast and then taking my licence for it (which BTW they made it harder than it had to be to get in the first place!)
