Just a little reminder, practice for the TT's start today, you can watch it live on the TT website Very Happy

I can't see it on Eurosposrts, so I take it practice is only on the internet?

Ah right, a BCF sweepstake. You holding the money? Here's my £1

I'll go for 3 riders. 0 spectators. 2 cats. 1 stray beach donkey.

Nobody forces them to race. 1st and foremost.
Whereas horses don't have the option.

Yes, they are our gladiators in the arena. Some want spills, others thrills and i like the skills.

You are getting into 'Troll-mode' or your period is on its way. Razz

15,000 people die each year from alcohol related shit.

4,000 for bikes give or take. ( google the stats)

The IOM relies heavily on people coming for the TT, it would be literally fuck all without it.

if we as humans want to die doing what we love / want without harming anyone else thats fine by me, i don't need pricks in suits telling me "this is bad so we are banning it"

if you still think we should all have a pissup instead, go check out how much money alcohol related dumb shit costs the NHS.

I think the minority is people wanting to see a crash, i can't see someone paying money, booking a ferry, finding a place to stay and all that bollocks just to specifically & hopefully see a crash, i can imagine a very few people that live on the island would do but if thats upto them so be it.

it's one of those things that'll never be banned, take for example the Monaco F1 grand prix, in a stupid place, no room for anything with f1 cars flying round, but i doubt it'll be removed from the calendar in my life time.

From what I know of the TT, most people just go for the piss up and party.
The real race enthusiasts are a small minority.
Personally I think it should be stopped.
It does no favours to biking, and the constant deaths simply perpetuate the idea that bikes are inherantly dangerous.
I don't think it would do the local economy any harm either.
If the racing was stopped, I'm prepared to bet that just as many people would still go to the Island for an annual party instead.

Seriously?!

Have you ever done anything exciting in your life?!

It's real simple.

Racers know the risk. Spectators know the risk.

Live and let die.

Safety nazi moron.

BAN EVERYTHING!

BAN BIKES.

BAN CARS.

BAN LORRIES.

BAN STAIRS.

BAN DISEASES.

BAN BOXING.

BAN BREATHING. IT RELEASES CO2 AND KILLS THE PLANET! ARRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

Please go and find some excitement FFS Rolling Eyes

Let people be you sanctimonious pompous arse.

Sounds like your forum had a visit from Grosvenor.
He tours all motorcycle forums, and starts wars, eventually gets himself banned and moves onto the next forum. Once he's done a loop he goes back o the beginning and starts again.
To be fair he is not that bad, he is just very opinionated about biking and very intolerant of other opinions, and gets abusive when opposed. Causes chaos, he hasn't been here now for three years, but still anyone who was on these forums at that time remembers him, and are still quick to point the finger at new posters that might be him.

Yes but we don't all stand around watching people smoke.
The point is that yes, people die doing allsorts of things, but when so many die in the name of entertaining race fans, it's just not right.

It's not for you to decide what's right and not right for other people.
