I'd save some money and put semi synthetic in it.

30k isnt enourmous mileage for a GSXR600.

Remember the main thing with oil is changing it regularly.

The worst thing you can do is buy expensive oil then use that as an excuse not to change it. You are better off buying three cans of cheaper oil and changing it three times as often than putting in synthetic and leaving it in for three times as long.

I agree, stick to 10w40 semi and change it at 3500-4000 miles.

Quite right although if changing it at those intervals be sure to use a bike specified one. It's all we ever use in our workshop apparently, well on most bikes, very few need fully synth. Anything more than semi is a waste on most bikes and can also cause clutch slip.

30k isn't high miles, unless it has been seriously neglected.

When an engine has done a reasonably high mileage, or has been neglected so wear has occurred, it is worth going up to a thicker oil grade to maintain oil pressure in the now looser tolerances. I've had a few cars like this, where it takes more than a couple of seconds for the oil light to go out on startup.

I wouldnt waste my money on bike specific oil myself as its 95% sales pitch.

A quality mineral car oil is just fine if you are disciplined about your oil changes.

That will do nicely. If you keep up the oil changes, the engine should run up to very high mileages.
