Hey guys.

My "new" GS has 2 bent forks...was told they were straight but they werent...doesnt matter anyway, the frame is great!

basically im looking on the bay and there are 2 sets, one at 80+9.50 and one at 110+10p&p

Also googled swapping the front forks...as the GS is supposed to have crap front suspension.
Came across this - https://www.customfighters.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17555

does that mean a few of those 37mm forks will be fine for me? Due to the lack of GS forks on ebay im happy to buy other ones, btw im only really needing the stanchions, not the fork lowers.

Could you not just buy replacement stanchions off someone like ABE?

You may well be able to use some of those from the list, but it depends on the length of the stanchion as well as the diameter. Wink

Why not just straighten them/have the stanchions straightened? Would be cheaper than replacements. Buy some new seals and change the oil whilst you have them out.

If they're not kinked or creased have them straightend but they won't be perfectly true i've been told.
Its your bike, buy new and know its right or have them bent back.

Done properly they would be at least as good as new - if they aren't creased as you said. Remember, forks flex in normal operation, effectively giving you a 'bent' fork as soon as you load it.

If the only issue with your forks is the slight bend (i.e. they have good chrome), I'd get them straightened. It's about £20 per fork.

Got link to place as local shop screwed my others..

Its not MASSIVELY out, but it definitely bends, got a metal straight edge and there is mass gap in one side and the ruler wont touch top to bottom on the other side Sad
