I'm looking to swap my cat's pillion pegs on for the rider ones, but the pillion pegs don't have a groove for a spring. They'll still fold up they just won't spring back down.

Does anyone thing this will be a problem for a trackday? On the slight off chance the organisers notice.

They can be solid if you like and that goes for racing as well.

Must depend on the track/scrutineers.

I've done one in the past on an MZ250 Very Happy

The pegs there are/were welded direct to the frame.

They don't really do scrutineering these days at track days. Prsumably because if they pass a bike that has a problem there's the possibility of someone sueing them after they crash.

Quite possibly true,

All I had to do was show my MOT and they had a quick look round the bike, to make sure it wasn't falling to bits. Then checked I was wearing decent leathers and had an ACU sticker on my lid.

Suppose they've still got to cover their backs a bit.

I would have thought they could classify the check they do similarly to that of an MOT, whereby the bike was in a 'fit' condition at the time of the check?

When was this?

Done track days with three or four companies in the last year and never had my bike looked at.

Only time was for an ACU-licence race school, where it was examined to show you what it /would/ be like if racing.

I've just put washers in and tightened them so they're solid. I hope my feet won't be off the pegs, but if they are I don't want the pegs folding away.

If they're solid they may even act as crude crash bungs. Smile

I've never had my bike checked at a track day.
If you have a rear set on then they are fixed pegs anyway... such as a Harris set. Can't see a problem - it's not unsafe, just a pain for you if you peg down and end up going slow for a few corners searching for the peg again!

Might not be such a good idea mate if they're the standard pegs, not rearsets. They're pretty low on a cat and could really upset the bike when they touch down, and have you off.

I haven't had the pegs down since I took the hero blobs off and the ones I have put on are about 15mm shorter and angled up a bit. So hopefully they won't touch down too easily, although I am also in the process of dropping the yokes 10mm down the forks. Confused

I will maybe slacken them off a bit so they can fold up if they touch down. Thumbs Up
