If Richard Tomlinson's book is to believed, he hid a passport and money etc in the petrol tank of his bike, when he was on the run from the security services.

Tubeless Tyres you could hide stuff in. Tubes, you'd have to cut and rejoin which sounds like a ballache to get leak free.

Customs must see this stuff thousands of times a year and know all the little places to check. Granted, I don't think they x-ray all vehicles or use dogs on every one but still, I wouldn't risk it.

Same way if you went to the airport with half a kilo of cocaine in your pocket, you might walk past all the security and customs scott free but if they do have the dogs out or ask you to step through an x-ray machine, you're fucked.

I saw something a while back, these drug runners had this genius method of hollowing out logs, stuffing them with drugs & a gps tracker and putting the ends back on and floating the logs down a river, from one border across to the next country.

Hi

While most people probably aren't searched a few will be randomly. Suspect most of it is targeted at those they think are likely targets. Such as those who look slightly out of place, looking nervous or overly defensive.

There are loads of places in a car or bike where you could hide things if you wanted to go to that much hassle. But if they really think you are worth taking a bit of time over I doubt it would make a great deal of difference if you just left it under the seat, or put it in the sump of the engine.

But you only need to be unlucky once to be really screwed.
