Surely if anyone put a big bid on there and then realised e-bay wouldnt backup the seller?

and the other for the big track bike ended with
*This Auction is for 1 Small titanium bolt*

What are you on about ? No one missed anything. It's pretty a common thing.

Thats rediculously missleading!
What happens if some poor sod gets duped?
Which side would the "law" side with?

I'd say its a downright disgrace and makes the seller look like a wanna be 2 bit no good con which would surly put people off every other auction they have going?

Seems like a poor attempt at conning someone, long shot at that but at the end of the day i wouldnt be supprised if people fell for it occasionally...

From what I can remember from the ad ( was it you who got it removed ? ) it made it quite clear what was on offer. If you buy anything on ebay you should read the description, who's fault is it if you don't ?

And as for conning people, the only people he's trying to con are the millionares who run ebay.

You're an idiot. The guy is just using Ebay as an advertising agent. He has to have something for sale or it wouldn't fit the rules of ebay. So he says you get a valve cap, or a wheel nut, while providing a phone number. It is clearly stated in these type of auctions that you ring and ask for a price and then he will 'list it on Ebay for you'.

It's not a con at all, the only person getting scammed is Ebay and that's a good thing.

In which case i have clearly mis-interperated the situation and if he's looking to get interest in the breaking of the bike off e-bay then heck, i think i might even be interested. (in the sense of contacting the seller and bartering in person).
Good tactic!

Lesson learnt.
