Non Starter Please Help

Hi there, first post for me, glad to join your forum.
This is for a friends bike which is a 1989 Yamaha FZ750,we are getting lights and horn etc but the ignition will not fire on the start button, all fuses are ok, killswitch is on run, sidestand is up.
Also tried bumping it, it was as if it wanted to run but it would not fire.
Any help or suggestions on what to do would b great,
