Riding one handed for short periods ... - so long as you are in complete control and not in traffic, this isn't a problem. Just look a bit of a numpty is all.

Having main light on in the day ... so long as its only dipped beam then again not a problem. Full beam can irritate other drivers even during the day.

Is fuelling when bike staight really worth the hassle ... its no more hassle as you just put both feet on the ground and hold the bike between your legs

Front L plate has two corners cut off to fit on mudguard, is facing forward, or should i get larger brackets and attach a full size one to the fat forks ,, ? If you get a jobsworth copper approach you then they may give you a rectification notice and 3 points? (not sure if you do get points for failing to display L's?)

Riding in bus lanes out side london .... So long as there is a picture of a motor bike on the sign for that particular bus lane then not a problem. If there isn't then you could get in a bit of trouble if caught within the bus lane operation times.

What thing to use for sidestand on tarmac on HOT day ... crushed drinks can or a small bit of wood. You can also find small plastic pucks online for parking bikes on soft ground.

Riding 30 awkward metres when engine totally cold, any adverse effects ... Just increased engine wear but 30 metres is bugger all so would just get on with it personally. I ride my bike all of 5 metres into my garage from time to time when cold as its a bastard to push up the ramp.

Whats the official line on ...

Riding one handed for short periods ... I wouldn't recommend it but if you feel it's safe to do so and there is nobody else around for you to injur, go for it.

Having main light on in the day ... always! You need to make sure other road users are aware of your presence.

Is fuelling when bike staight really worth the hassle ... fuelling when bike straight?

Front L plate has two corners cut off to fit on mudguard, is facing forward, or should i get larger brackets and attach a full size one to the fat forks ,, ? You should be fine mate. I always used to snip my L plate down slightly to fit the bike. Providing you're not taking the Michael the police won't give you any hassle.

Riding in bus lanes out side london .... use bus lanes out of operating hours as per the highway code

What thing to use for sidestand on tarmac on HOT day ... piece of wood? Lid fron a jar? Anything you have lying around really mate - no point spending cash on something when you will have a piece of junk that will increase the contact area just as well.

Riding 30 awkward metres when engine totally cold, any adverse effects ...You should let the bike warm up first, allow the engine to run at it's optimum...but setting off slowly isn't really going to damage the bike mate

Sorry for multiple nooby ??? .. but things i would like to know ... Thumbs Up Karma
Wink
