A48 Llanedeyrn roundabout in Cardiff
Yesterday (Fri 4th) around 4pm
An older style R1 by the look of it. Not too much damage to the bike, and no visible debris or fluids on the road, but they had two Police cars and an ambulance in attendance.
Hope you're OK mate ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

Assuming the rider was OK ... at least it gave me the opportunity to practice some filtering down the middle of the dual carriageway ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

Seen more bikers down than usual this year - I blame the state of the roads. Fucking lethal in places. You're riding the same roads you've done 100 times before, only to find some gigantic crater on the apex of a bend. You'd think they'd fleeced enough in fuel duty out of us to pay for the road surfaces to be kept in at least reasonable nick ____________________ The RXS100: vehicle of choice for Chuck Norris |

Certainly more than usual down, its been highlighted a lot in sussex, the number of deaths is something like double that of last year.
I think its a mixture of better weather, so more people out, people not expecting as many people (as last year may have had less) and the road conditions are pretty shite...
I did hear a statistic along the lines of only 6% of the money for fuel duty/road tax actually goes back into the road system.
To me it seems really retarded and backwards. I've been out to the states about 5 times in the last 9 months, i'm going to the same sort of area and they have constant road works, but the quality of the roads have been great and they keep improving them/adding extra lanes/doing other bits.
Makes you think, if they used a few more % of that income on roads, we could have a better and more useful network, people would get to where they're going quicker, therefore we 'should' potentially make more money. God knows how many millions of people each day having an extra 30 minutes to 1 hour of work time/spare time - that'd make a huge difference.
Instead, we reduce the speed limit meaning less cars per hour can fit through..
Then again, I suppose putting lots of wind turbines up rather than investing in tidal power generation looks better as its visible...
I'll get off my soapbox now, monday hasn't started well so far lol ____________________ Current Bikes: Honda CBR 600RR - '07, Suzuki GSX1250 FA ST '11
