Worrying won't change a thing - unless your partner knows you worry and it bothers him. That might distract him from his riding. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

I usually ride with a healthy sense of paranoia and self preservation... Seems to be working just fine so far ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

My other half worries about me, despite me being pretty much Mr Sensible these days It's natural. But the chances of something serious happening are slim, unless you're a complete headbanger. ____________________ The RXS100: vehicle of choice for Chuck Norris |

No point worrying about it, everyone is going to die at some point, and you cannot stop that happening either. Worrying about someone you love is normal though...so long as you don't allow this worry to consume you and become an obsession, try not to worry about being worried.
They say that people worry more about consequences the older they get, the more loved ones they lose, and if they start having kids. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

That's what my mum was like with me on the bike. I ended up getting a microphone setup in my lid and my phone hooked up to auto-answer, so that she could phone me to check up on me whenever.
Didn't really distract me at all, so i found it was a good way to calm her down.
Though the phonecall after my crash where i was laying at the side of the road with one arm hanging out wasn't the nicest....
Shit happens, it's a risk we ALL take. Not tryiing to make you worry more or anything but you cna't change anything by worrying. Suppose the best thing you could do is to go tag along

Unfortunately accidents happen but so do millions of other things. Its just a case of live your life and put the worry to the back of your head.
In the last month i have had 3 biker mates die. One at NABD one guy at work and one from the group i ride with.
2 of them had heart attacks while eating breakfast. One went to bed friday night after the shift and never woke up in the morning.
The last month has been a real eye opener for me on just how fast it can all end. All i can say is life to short to worry about it just get out there and live it. ____________________ DL650 Vstrom 2004

It's natural to worry about someone you care about , but from what you say he's a sensible rider , so you need to put things in proportion .
Most accidents happen in the kitchen , but my wife doesn't worry about me when I'm cooking dinner
Talk it through with him , calmly and sensibly and you'll probably feel better , bottling it up does no good and will only lead to you worrying more. ____________________ Life is like a shit sandwich. The more bread you have, the less shit you eat. |
