Howdy, new member here. Just bought a 99 fzs600. great bike, full service history. Now taxed and tested so took it for a spin yesterday and couldn't fault it's performance.
Trouble is I detected a quite loud "fizzy" noise from the gears when feathering the throttle or on the overrun.
Don't know whether this is normal on these bikes.
Am I over reacting ?
Comments appreciated.

if its any concelation, my fazer does simular. mine has a knocking, which as soon as you pull in the clutch goes away, or if you rev goes away. i think the clutch bearing is nackered.

the gears whiz abit too. i think its just the age. how many miles has yours done?

if your really worried, you could change the oil, and filter if you fancied it.

obviously if its really loud, and can be heard over the engine, get it checked out. otherwise i wouldnt worry.

The bikes done 25000 not that much really. Yep it is a bit clunky goin into gear but I put that down to the fact it has been off the road for over 12 months, possibly clutch sticking a bit. Only did 450 miles after its last service, the oil is nice and fresh.
