Currently trying to bleed the brakes on my bike, but it just isn't working. The trouble is, when I loosen the bleed nipple by only 1/4 turn, brake fluid leaks out of the sides of the nipple as well as the tip. Tighten it, and nothing can come out.
Any suggestions for what I can do, as I can't bleed the brakes as it currently is. I'm at a bit of loss as to what to do, I've tried swapping the bleed nipple for a new one, but I still get the same problem.

what about if you put some of the tape they use to seal raditors on. just a small layer, might help to tighten the thread up? i think its pv tape or something?

could use ptfe tape or threadlock(lock and seal) this will do the same job, but screw nipple in and leave to harden for couple of minutes, done this on my calipers.

you don't even need to turn it a quarter of a turn - thats alot!

you only need to turn it about 1/8 or even 1/16 of a turn.

Only undo until a tiny amount, and your know you have undone enough when you can pull the brake lever all the way in

It doesn't matter if fluid leaks through the threads when your bleeding. So long as it seals ok and nothing leaks when it's tightened up it'll be fine.

Just remember to clean up any fluid that gets onto the caliper, and close the nipple before the fluid stops flowing out, else you might get air sucked back in.

Big catheter syringe and some hose would do the trick.

Fluid leaking past the threads on the bleed nipple is more of an issue with a vacuum bleeder than it is for normal bleeding methods.

Get a massive 60ml syrigne or bigger, fill with fluid sucked out from the bottle and pump it in from the caliper end.

works every time for me, then proceed to bleed as normal

then bungee up the front brake lever and leave over night
