Is anyone else eagerly awaiting the keynote speech from Steve Jobs at the WWDC today?

The new iPhone is due to be officially unveiled today and set for release between today and the end of the month.

I'll be watching carefully as my poor old 3G is in need of updating.

Cue the iPhone bashing...

Not due for a replacement of my 3g for another 6 months or so.
Should give it a bit of time to settle down and drop considerably in price.
I would appreciate it if all the hardcore Iphone fans could rush and and buy them straight away so demand drops off sharpish like with the theory that prices will follow.
Should also mean the jailbreaks will be out by the time I get one and most likely a few updates to boot.

Whilst I'm not a die hard fan ,I would have to admit the Iphone has probably been the most multi functional phone I've had thus far and they will probably get my hard earned yet again when my current contract is up.

The Gizmodo thing was all well and good, but not much in terms of specifics.

I'm not a die hard fan and would swap to other phones if they suited my needs better. I am a fan of the iPhone - I like the way it does things.

And Mr Monkey, I think there is a jailbreak exploit already for 4.0 but the dev teams are keeping it underwraps until it's officially released so Apple can't patch it before release.

I can't stand apples way of business so refuse to buy anything from them anymore.

I know this is kind of biased but seriously consider getting an android phone next. Cheaper and better which you don't usually get in the same sentence.

£22.50, 600mins, unlimited everything else and free handset.

So I am paying £540 over 2 years for a phone which costs £450 on its own so I am getting an absolute bargain I think.

I've a jailbroken 3G, and the only things I'd like is a much longer battery life and a cheaper monthly tariff. I can live with the former, and the new iPhone won't help with the latter, so I'll not be "upgrading". I might even go back to my old K800i when my contract is up in September, and flog the 3G.

Hi

Charlotte has a 3G one, and has been waiting for the new one to come up before getting an upgrade. When she does I will probably have her old iPhone.

Personally I am not that keen on it. They do the job, have just about usable internet access, pathetic battery life and use horrible on screen keyboards. However I have got to the point where I really can't be bothered with spending any money to have anything better.

For phone calls and texts my old windows based HTC was nicer to use, with a proper slide out keyboard. When it got broken I landed up using my old basic Nokia and realised I didn't miss the toys much at all.

I had a play with someone's i phone recently, and it was lovely, until I realised that it didnt do anything more than my old phone that I would need.

Although I did quite like wifi internet on a handheld device, its actually more fiddly than a PC, and at home is the only place I would use wifi internet.

I have had a look at itouchs on ebay since though.
