Alarm question regarding Text Alert, please look! :)

Hey there

I've recently got myself a nice new bike (z750 if you must know) and I am in the process of securing it.

Now for the real reason of this post, i ask,

is the Datatool Text Alert compatible with the Cyclone-C11 Alarm?

If any of you guys know anything that will help please shed some light. The bike itself comes with an immobilizer, and the dealer wanted around 300 odd pounds to fit a datatool alarm, which i thought was bonkers and after seeing good reviews and video clips of the Cyclone C-11 I decided to go buy that instead.

I want to take as many precautions as I can with my new bike so having Text Alert would make me very happy

If you are wondering, the other security measures I have taken so far are:

Grip-Lock,

Alarm,

Immobilizer,

Front and rear disk locks (one alarmed)

and

AlphaDot.

I also have a Stormforce cover to hide and protect the bike over night and when I am not using it Smile

Any one with anything to say about Text Alert please comment, if you have it or know someone with it.

Any security tips would be appreciated too thank you please comment!

Secure it to either a ground anchor or an immovable object (Metal fence or street light) Thumbs Up

Locked through the frame with a big high quality chain, to an immovable object (ground anchor, solid metal railings (not a drainpipe)).

Anything else and two thieves can just hoik it into a van and be away in minutes.

get the cheapest "alarm with pager" and almaxIII chain with ground anchor. and an insurance with low excess.
If they can break this security, they can break anything.

I can't see a text alert being overly usefull. You seem to have your bases more than covered.

Thieves fall into 2 categories, scrotes that knick easy to knick bikes and professionals that bike high end stuff your average modern bike isn't that knick-able as with alarms and immobilizers there is to much hassle for a small payoff.

If you are that worried a tracker would be infinitely more useful than text alert.

My TDM 900 '02 has sat outside my house every night for the last 2 and a bit years with only the steering lock and a meta alarm it has been fine. *touches wood*

The text alert alarm doesn't stop your bike being stolen.

I'd say you'd be better getting a large chain so you can attach your bike to something immovable. A large chain stops the bike being loaded into the back of a van. The text alert thing doesn't stop that happening, all it does is send a text message from your bike saying "help!! I'm being stolen".
