The website doesn't really give much info. I thought if someone's done it, they may have a few tips...

It looks like a 90 minute riding assessment. Like Bikesafe without the tuition?

confirm that you are riding well or offer you some further training.

I've done it . . . it's a trainer following you round commenting on you road position, braking, observation etc (via an ear piece - i.e. instant feedback).

It didn't change the way I ride, but I still found it useful.

He did ask me to do a U turn - which I struggled to do if I'm honest (was using my newly aquired triumph sprint at the time - heavy with crap turning circle Embarassed ).

I'm now booked onto this (which isn't so widely publicised) https://www.eastofenglandbikers.com/newforum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10556 . . . from what I gather this is more intensive.

Oh that's good... I was under the impression that you had to check your mirrors and follow his directions with no radio. I think I'll struggle with the U turn too on my bike... May have a few goes before hand!

Did you pass then?

I was looking at that other link too. I was given a leaflet about it at Bury bike show on Sunday.

Thanks

Sorta related note, I have heard doing bikesafe can reduce your insurance. Does Hugger Challenge do the same? Or is it just a discount card you get?

And off the website...

I 'passed' . . . although can't imagine many people will have failed. I think the idea is you end up with a couple of pointers you can take away to think about.

I think the other thing I'm going on is more intensive . . . . following this I think I'll look at a novice track day Embarassed (only been riding just over a year - although done plently of miles).

Phil

Update - regarding insurance, I did get a certificate that he said I could use to get cheaper insurance . . . we will see at renewal.
