Have to say Patrick Stewart is a cock. When I was in yr 11 I went to see a modern remake of Macbeth, with him playing the lead role, as we were studying it for our GCSE, two girls from our school did speak through some of it and were admittedly very fucking annoying, but in the question and answer part with him after the performance he addressed the entire audience and was a completely condescending twat. Treated the whole school, including teachers, as if they hadn't wanted to be there and were all making fun throughout the entire thing. Made me very angry as I had really enjoyed the performance and respected him as an actor until that point.

From that and this video it seems pretty clear he has a problem with 'younguns' taking things for granted being 'rude' and (supposedly) not wanting to be there. Bit of a prick IMO.

I'm fairly sure 'young uns' know who Patrick Stewart is, if not from endless re-runs of Star Trek then from X-Men. He's literally only just been knighted, it's not surprising that it probably went to his head and he thought he'd instantly command respect from everyone.

I don't even know who James Corden is, absolutely no idea but it seemed to me like Stewart started it and thought his comment would be shrugged off, Corden shouldn't have fired back though, pretty unprofessional to start a spat on stage but then I doubt he cares, it's publicity, I've now seen his face for the first time ever, not that it's of any benefit.

also it's been edited to show highlights of the tiff so until i see the entire thing i've yet to pass judgement. but tbh if picard is ripping into someone it must be for a good reason.

Stewart made himself look like a right twat IMO. There was no need to go up there and rip into Cordon like that. A bit of friendly banter would of been fair enough, but he went up there with the intent to make Cordon look stupid, and it backfired.

I think Cordon is alright. Gavin & Stacey was really good, his sketch show was abysmal. He's a bit hit and miss. However, I think if I went on the piss for a night with him and his celeb friends I would have a real laugh, but I wouldn't want to do it more than once a month. He's getting some real over exposure at the moment, and that is what is turning people against him.

Stewart's lucky that it was Cordon he'd taken the piss out of, if it was a proper comedian like Jimmy Carr or Ricky Gervais he'd of been ripped a new arsehole. He may be a respected actor, but it doesn't mean he's funny, he had no comic ability or timing.

The whole thing was cringeworthy from both parties perspective, but I think Cordon came off slightly better.

I haven't seen it yet (no audio at work) but a friend who's worked with Corden and...err..the other one, reckons that Corden is a right egotistical twat. Apparently he gets in a huff if the other one gets more attention from the public whenever they're out filming, saying "don't they realise I fucking wrote Gavin and Stacy!".

I've also heard that it started off with Stewart (who the same person reckons can be a bit lofty, but is otherwise really nice) complaining that Corden had his hands in his pockets, and said something like "I can see your belly", and Corden took exception.

Canni watch it yet as at a critical stage of a download and don't want to risk it.

But... Corden is an absolute retard, who's only even mildly funny when tearing in to people (the sports relief thing was pretty funny, but I doubt he made friends even if it was scripted). Patrick Stewart however is a god among men, and as I'm fairly sure he voices himself in Family Guy regularly and is a character in American Dad (two genuinely funny shows) I'm keeping fully in his corner.

The fat should-be-a-yank-but-somehow-is-british is blatantly at fauly. So there.
