The date for this year's UXB Rat & Survival Bike Show has been set -
it's 21-23rd May at the White Horse, Tattingstone, near Ipswich,
Suffolk. Tickets are £15 on the gate.

See you there, I hope!

Cheers!

Not the same management as the last few years, whether or not that means it will be different is yet to be seen, but we know theirs going to be some awesome bikes there, and no doubt lots of alcohol.

Cheers
John

What's it like for someone who's not been to a rally before?

As much as I want to justify going to this one, the trade of will be what I spend on fuel getting there, I can't spend on beer. Shame.

For TTR.
Rat bike rallies are one of the most laid back rallies you can go to. Beer prepared to drink. Lots.

Shiny bikes are accepted but you will be ridiculed Mr. Green

yeah rat rallies are always a giggle, plenty of people willing to do stupid stuff for entertainment.

Chris, tis a shame you wont be making it, I know what you mean about the mileage though, its 180 miles from me.

Cheers

Shame he couldn't stick to the Taddington site, nice place, great roads. And the Scottish contingent will more than likely miss out too.

Best not to shout it about...for a start. Or you might outted as a rally virgin...and anything could happen (to you).

Basically you ride to a rally, find somewhere to pitch your tent, make friends with your fellow campees (they will then be your friendly neighbourhood watch). Then you wander off to see whats going on in the main arena. Usually bands, comedy club, loads of other bikers to chat too, stalls, food, drink...Plus later bike shows, silly games...

Basically it's a break from normal life, time for you to kick back, relax, make new friends, talk til you lose your voice, dance to the good music...whatever really.

If the sun is out, sunbathe...or find some people who are up for a ride out... Thumbs Up

Top tip, don't drink too heavily on the Saturday night, and get to your tent before 2am, and you should be right for your ride home.

While I have admiration for anyone who builds/adapts their bike I have a problem with some of the rat bikes. IMO they're just customs by any other name. A real rat bike isn't made, it evolves into one

Just my thoughts Thumbs Up Very Happy

Correct, however, theres a lot of 'survival' bikes out there, and thats the built on the cheap to look mental kind of thing.

Cheers
