Just spent a while reading through the comments on here, after going through more motorbikes then I have matching socks, I have found my CBR125 to be a fun toy for the meantime.
Just made a 130 odd mile trip from Bognor Regis, West Sussex to Colchester in Essex and it made it there alright, didn't overheat and only used 1 and a half tanks of petrol, I was going along the M25 at a comfortable 75mph, even though my exhaust has pretty much snapped off at the manifold and is being replaced in a few days.
I was sat at about 8,000rpm in 6th, could have probs tried to push it a bit more, but didn't need to go any faster due to traffic and the police.
I will be having a little tinker with the exhaust and engine over the next few weeks when I have time and will let you know what happens.

CBR was a great little first bike, although I would have never taken it on the motorway. It holds it's own in speed limits but nothing else, should change the gearing if you're wanting to take it on the motorway so it doesn't run at such high revs when going at 70 ____________________ Left the forum. |

Re-posted so people can follow me in the process of tinkering with my bike, and once I've got it running properly again, I will start going abroad again.
And as someone pointed out in the other thread, I know 130 miles for a tank and a half of fuel isnt great, but then neither is the fact that its drinking fuel and the exhaust is hanging off.
Problems to be sorted next weekend. |
