Haha, im so looking foward to biking in the future. Im 16 and 17 in october , i went to view a 250 today to do up for my restricted licence and i had a little go , it was just amazing. So i just wanted to say look foward to becoming a proper biker after my crappy little geared 50 goes.

Im looking at a Kawasaki Z250 ( went to see it today ) as im loving that retro look and it has disks front and back and electric start as im lazy! has anybody any prior experience with these bikes?

Any advice would be good , oh and also can I do my theory at 16 or should i just wait until in 17. Anyways it was nicer to do 60 compared to 40.

Barney

Nice one, good luck with the theory, mod 1 and restricted test, good way to go i think.
i also think you can do the theory slightly before you're 17, to allow you to do the practical on your 17th birthday if you choose

You can do it as soon as you are 16, but theres no point, just do it when you know you're gonna take mod 1 in a month or so.

I done this the other day, but with a 400 - I went from my Suzuki TS50X and hopped onto a Suzuki SP400 and wow I didn't realise un-responsive my TS was and the SP made a lovely sound when you wacked the throttle open hehe. I rode the SP for about 5 miles though, quiet country lanes though. *naughty me.

I passed my theory last month and I am 16, turn 17 in August which is when I am going to do the restricted test. Good Luck ba.

I did my theory a couple of months before I was 17, this let me pass my test 3 weeks after turning 17 as there was less fannying about.

Also if you should fail it first time at 16 you have time to retake before you are 17 and thinking about practical tests.

Glad i didn't miss out on riding a 250...it's wearing now Smile But still fun.

Today was the 1st time that i realised that 2 adults on a 250 for 4 hrs is wearing thin on the fun side. Shed the pillion later, and i was back upto speed.
Even my pillion said i need a bigger bike.

...what was the question? Z250..it'll be fun. No more no less. Thumbs Up
