It'll be fine, sheez, I left mine for triple that in the dead of winter after getting home soaked to the skin, cheesed off convinced motorists were genuinely trying to kill me last December. When I eventually went near her again in March, she started first time. ____________________ Suzuki GSX-R750K4 ~ Mivv GP |

Personally I'd chuck it on a trickle charger and paddock stands just to save hassle if your battery is slighly weak. ____________________ My Flickr |

As drzsta said i wouldnt leave it that long. If its a suzuki all you will come back to is a pile of powdered rust which will blow away as soon as you open the door.
Any other bike and you will be fine though. Ive bought bikes which havent been started for 5+years and with a bit of decent fuel start right up no problem so a month is nothing ____________________ DL650 Vstrom 2004

Stick the battery on a trickle charger, should be fine. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

If you need to trickle charge your battery after 27 days, your electrics must be fucked. .
My bike stood outside for 3 months in sub-zero temperatures, and that didn't completely kill the battery. Although it never did hold a good charge again after that. ____________________

I left my bike for 5 months over winter. I put a tiny bit of fuel stabiliser in the tank and ran the bike for 15 minutes to get it through th carbs etc. Put it on the centre stand. Removed the batter (eventually).
Removing the battery is the most important thing really, especially if it's going to be cold. Sub-zero temps kill batteries.
I used the fuel stabiliser because I was unsure how long I would be leaving it standing. Didn't fancy having the carbs getting all gummed up. ____________________

Just to make it clear, those that have said 'trickle charger' hopefully mean an Optimate (etc), i.e. a 'clever' charger that will keep it topped up, but not overcharge. You leave it on a true trickle charger (i.e. a 'dumb' charger') and it is at best going to bu66er the batters, at worst cause it to go bang!!
Anyhoo, what would I do in your situ??? A month this time of year and it should be fine!! ... I'd just leave it, but make sure it was nicely charged before I left and used soon after getting back!! ____________________ The purpose of life is to fight maturity. |
