..............................and it was great until I stopped for fuel after about 15 mins and the bike wouldn't start again, I think it could be a carb problem as the brand new plug was very oily and after a few kicks the bike smells like it's flooding although it started easily on the first kick yesterday and then today?

I'm getting a good strong spark when I test it and have tried 2 new plugs so am pretty sure thats fine.

Any suggestions of what else to check for would be great.

Cheers

Jon

kh's eat plugs, even if its sparking out side the engine, it doesn't mean it is under compression
change the plug anyway,
and try again

Hi

Thanks for the quick reply, I have tried 2 new plugs in there and no joy with either of them.

check the 2 stroke pump is adjusted and the throttle cable is well lubricated.

If either are out of sync, it just runs like crap! And that goes for my od bike that did exactly the same when i let the cable rot....

too much oil will kill the igniting of the petrol and air

I'll check that first as I had it off yesterday to change the right hand engine gasket and did adjust it slightly to get the marks to line up when I put it back together so could well have upset it then.

Check the plug cap and HT lead are nicely connected and there's no corrosion in there. Common cause of a weak spark on KHs, which leads to difficult/impossible starting.
