Hello.

Well i decided to take the CG 125 on a Round trip of 220 miles to the lake district and back, visiting keswick, layburn, Richmondale, devils bridge.

It was a grate day out, mind you the bloody hills kills the CG at times i could have got off and walked faster. I loved the twisted roads. Stopped for a male at the windermear pub before heading back to headingly, coming back i maintained about 60mph it was 10:30 and iam in middle of nowhere so was in hurry to get back home. Was good Day out and only cost me 14 in petrol for 220miles and still some in the tank, so a cheap trip no thrills day out.

ahhh... I figured it out now. The clue is in the 'lakeside CG.' It's not a screen it's a sail. Thumbs Up

The life of a CG rider always confuses me.

Also, how did the sail perform on the lake? Interested in converting my next bike to a boat in a similar way.

The height of the screen is adjustable but iv got it on the highest, its good screen tho, keeps all the wind of me.

I'd suggest that a slightly curved sheet of plexiglass almost certainly has better aerodynamic properties than, say, a motorcycle rider wearing a dayglo jacket with a top-box behind him.

I was talking to a guy the other day about this subject, he has a Aprillia RS 50 and was saying he cant go on long rides because his bike was to small. I was telling him about when I was 16 many, many, many years ago I used to ride from sevenoaks in Kent to Birmingham a round trip of about 300 miles I think, on an aging Puch maxi, it took hours and hours but I still loved it. My god that moped was a heap, cant believe I had one. for those of you not old enough to remember them here is a pic in all it's glory.

if you went on those trips on that, i take my hat off to you Thumbs Up ....
many many moons ago, i had a Honda MT50, and i used to travel all around sussex and hampshire on mine Smile ... good times

there wasn't much choice of affordable 50s in them days really you just had to make the best of what you got, it used to take me about 5 or so hours to get there stay the night and then back in the morning, loads of fun

thinking about long trips on 50cc bikes/mopeds, i remembered that i lived in london at the time, but most of the family were in Ipswich.

i used to think nothing of jumping on my moped (suzuki ap50/Honda mt50/whatever) and riding to Ipswich and back in a day Smile
the M25 was`nt even built Shocked , thats how long ago that was!
North circular road-then- A12 so it did`nt matter that i was on L-plates. Smile

I did a 330mile round trip for the BCF snowdonia meet in 2007 on my RS50 - still one of my most memorable rides to date.

If you can avoid the motorways small bikes are fine for all day trips.
Good shot of the stone circle at Keswick - looks quite late in the day so amazingly no-one else was wandering about in the picture!

BTW if not notice the 2nd picture down is a car reck bits all over the road, next to the reck i found that bottle LOL so i think i know what caused the crash . by the looks of the wreck it was a sports car type. prob speeding.
