And the MEGA DEMO ON THE 19th JUNE will be just the warm up before the HIGH COURT case in London on the 24th June.

And good news the Canadian bikers have just slapped down the Quebec government over the 200% road tax rise they have imposed over the last 2 years and had it reversed.

I would happily pay £1 to park my bike if it means that the council puts in stuff like posts so you have something to chain your bike too. Or they then are able to employ more people to check the parking area's which helps with the security aspect.


I look at it this way. Sure we do not take up as much space as a car, but we still need space to park. If we want spaces to be provided, in safe, secure and convenient locations. Then we have to be prepared to pay for them.

What you may now find is that said councils simply remove the bike spaces and replace them with car spaces for which they can charge.... Or move the bike spaces to out of the way area's that are unsafe, then hit any parking where not permitted with a fine.

Who's the winner then..... Certainly not the bikers....

Who said we wanted something for FREE,

the money raised from motoring taxes (all inc road tax, petrol duty and petrol vat, and vat on servicing and parts, which only exists due to people owning private cars and bikes),

raises about £50,000,000,000 (£50billion) and the amount spent on the road (inc motorways, bus lanes, cycle lanes, traffic lights, basically everything to do with the road, is about £8,000,000,000 (£8billion).

So, as motorists we are short changed by about 80% of the money we pay.

What we are saying apart from, the local council that has imposed this tax*, is breaking the law. This is due the fact that it is illegal to make money from parking.

A fact already tested in law, since the high court said so to Camden council in a case they lost, due to breaking this law.

Is that the council has no case to impose a tax that has no benefit to anyone except the profits of the 2 private companies making millions from running the contracts that are used to collect the tax.
