Autistic kids often become obsessed with things. Their brains develop differently, sometimes making them brilliant at something, sometimes making them a vegetable. The kid does sound like he picked up on some things at a very young age, then went into his own little world of obsession that is baffling to everyone else.

The kid probably needs help rather than parents and media attention for what he's saying.

Besides, i've been to Mars and it's nothing like what he says.

I think it's probably more to do with the fact his mum also thinks she's a psychic, he's just their puppet for some attention no doubt, everything he comes out with has been fed to him in story books, the parents even say so, nothing has come out of nowhere.
